WHAT IS SPRAY FOAM INSULATION EQUIPMENT?

SPRAY FOAM EQUIPMENT IS GROUPED INTO FOUR MAJOR CATEGORIES
Spray Foam Insulation Equipment Machine
Spray Foam Machines
The spray foam machine is the cornerstone of your entire system. It is the most expensive and most important piece in the entire spray foam system. The spray foam machine ratios, pressurizes, and heats your spray foam chemical.
Spray foam insulation equipment foam gun
Spray Foam Guns
The spray foam gun is the first point at which the two chemicals of spray foam actually touch, mix, and turn into the final product you see on the wall. The foam gun is the highest maintenance piece of equipment in the spray foam system.
spray foam insulation equipment pumps
Transfer Pumps
The air powered transfer pumps in a spray foam system are quite simple. They the two pieces of equipment responsible for moving the raw chemical from the 55 gallon to the spray foam machine, that is it simple and easy.
spray foam insulation equipment hoses
Heated Hoses
Your heated hose can range anywhere from 60′ to 410′ depending on your type of spray foam machine. The job of the heated hose is to move the chemical to the gun and doing while staying under pressure and maintaining the temperature set at your machine.

A MORE IN DEPTH LOOK AT SPRAY FOAM EQUIPMENT

Your spray foam machine is the key piece of your entire spray foam equipment system.  The spray foam machine is responsible for a few major functions of the spray foam system.  The spray foam machine heats the chemical, pressurizes the chemical, and ratios the chemical into a perfect 1:1 balance.  If one of the three key features of the spray foam machine fails or does not perform properly, the entire spray foam system will suffer and can produce bad spray foam or fail to produce any spray foam at all as a result on a single failure of dysfunction.
The importance of choosing a reliable, well-built, and most importantly tested and proven spray foam machine can not be understated.  The spray foam machine is the single most expensive piece of spray foam equipment you’ll own and it is also the single most important.
While the spray foam machine is the most important part of a spray foam system, the spray foam gun is the most active and maintained piece of spray foam equipment in a spray foam system.  The spray foam gun is the first, and only, place in your entire spray foam system where the A and B chemical components come into contact with one another.  As a result of the spray foam gun being the first place where the two chemicals come into contact, this is also where many of the most common issues or troubles with your spray foam system can occur.
Keeping your spray foam gun clean and maintained is a essential part of your spray foam system producing good yields and controlling the amount of trouble you have with your spray foam system.  The maintenance of a spray foam gun is not difficult nor time consuming as long as it is done properly and on a regular basis while actively spraying.  Simply things like using proper amounts of gun grease, never soaking o-rings in any type of solvent, and always having a couple cans of generic carburetor cleaner around can make your spray foam gun run like a champ day in and day out.

OUR SPRAY FOAM GUNS WE OFFER

Transfer pumps come in a pair, they are an air operated fluid pump that are responsible for one simple thing, moving the A and B chemical from their storage, typically 55 gallon drums, into the spray foam machine.  The transfer pumps are a pretty simple system, they are just an air motor that is connected to a suction assembly.  They operate at a low pressure, about 300 to 400 psi when transferring the chemical through the supply lines.
There is not an awful lot you need to watch for and do in order to keep your transfer pumps running happy.  One major thing, most will do it once and never again, is NEVER let your transfer pumps run in an empty barrel or container.  The only thing making a transfer pump run slow like it does in a spray foam equipment system is the viscosity of the material it is pumping, the less viscus the material the faster the pump will run which isn’t always a good.
Heated hose is another key component of a spray foam system, it is responsible for handling the heated and highly pressurized chemical delivery from the spray foam machine into the spray foam gun.  The heated hose comes in 50′ lengths and depending on your type of spray foam machine can be built up to a total of 410′ in total length.  All Graco hose from Paratus is heated, the only difference in the types of heated hose we sell is that some have a regulated temperature control and some do not.
A piece of heated hose is made up of a pretty simple structure that consists of two pieces of high pressure hydraulic hose capable of handling pressures of up to 3500 psi, a copper wire heating elements, and several varying layers of insulation to help maintain your chemical temperature and protect the hose itself.  There is not much required in the way of maintenance with heated hose, the one major concern you will have with heated hose is that when you store it, you will need to flush out the A-side of the hose with a proper chemical to ensure the A chemical does not harden or crystallize inside of your hose.

Getting the right piece of spray foam insulation equipment in your system or spray foam rig is of course an important part of the decision making process.  The keys to looking at spray foam insulation equipment by the application type are be sure you really pick one major area that you plan to focus on.  All spray foam insulation equipment can spray foam, it is just a matter of how much and how fast that makes one particular piece of spray foam insulation equipment a better choice over another.
RESIDENTIAL SPRAY FOAM
Every piece of spray foam insulation equipment we sell at Paratus will handle all types of residential spray foam applications. It is important though that if residential spray foam is your primary area of application that you choose the proper piece of spray foam insulation equipment. The Graco E-20 spray foam insulation equipment is the ideal spray foam machine for the residential spray foam market in our opinion.
COMMERCIAL SPRAY FOAM
One of the major keys to commercial spray foam insulation jobs is getting that perfect balance of output and not having to overpay for it. With commercial work there is a massive spectrum of work from studded cavities to wide open cinder block walls which means your choice of spray foam insulation equipment can vary quite substantially. The Graco E-30 is the most diverse type of spray foam machine we feel for the serious, everyday commercial spray foam contractor.
SPRAY FOAM ROOFING
Spray foam roofing really comes down to two major factors of influence with making a choice of a piece of spray foam insulation equipment: Output and Hose Length. The Graco E-30 and Graco H-40 are the two most common pieces of spray foam insulation equipment seen on roofing jobs these days because of their output and hose lengths. The H-40 offers higher output and hose length, but that comes with a heavy price tag. The E-30 is a popular choice for roofing because it is slightly more affordable than the H-40 and offers many of the same benefits, just not quite the full range that the H-40 delivers.
